The short version: there is no sticker price. Here is how the billing actually works.
Microsoft Copilot Cowork has no flat price. It is billed through Copilot Credits, a usage-based currency where 100 credits cost $1.00 at list pricing. Each task consumes credits based on its complexity, so your monthly cost depends on how many people use Cowork and how heavily they use it.

In practice, Microsoft's planning averages put a corporate knowledge worker at roughly 14,250 credits per month, which is about $143. Technical staff run heavier tasks and average closer to $228 per user, while managers land near $82. A 48-person organization with a typical mix of roles comes out around $6,823 per month, or roughly $142 per user.
Cowork credits are also separate from the Microsoft 365 Copilot license, which lists at $30 per user per month. Budget for both: the license puts Copilot in your tenant, and credits pay for the autonomous work Cowork performs.

Cowork is Microsoft's agentic AI capability inside Copilot. Instead of answering one prompt at a time, Cowork works through multi-step tasks on your behalf, using frontier models such as Anthropic Opus 4.8. Usage is metered in Copilot Credits rather than a flat per-seat license.
There is no fixed monthly price. Cowork is billed in Copilot Credits at roughly $1.00 per 100 credits at list pricing. Using Microsoft's planning averages, expect between about $80 and $230 per user per month depending on role, with technical users at the high end. Microsoft 365 Copilot lists at $30 per user per month and requires a qualifying Microsoft 365 plan. Cowork's credit-based charges are consumption on top of that license, so a complete Copilot budget includes both the seat price and expected credit usage.
